Does "Synthroid or Armour" treat Hashimoto's Disease?

Let's start with the assumtion that you want to treat the why you have your thyroid dysfunction.  If this is so, then you will like what we have to say...follow along our functional medicine approach!

Hashimoto's disease which is defined as an autoimmune

condition in which your own immune system attacks your

own thyroid gland.  The thyroid gland is part of your

endocrine system, which produces many hormones that

coordinate lots of the body's activities. The cause of this

attack results mainly due to excess inflammation.  Which

is why Hashimoto's disease is also know as

Chronic Lymphocytic Thyroiditis.

If you are asking yourself how come doctors will

prescribe a drug like Synthroid or Armour to treat my

Hashimoto's?  Then you're asking the right question.

Synthroid or Armour (replacement thyroid hormones) do absolutely NOTHING to slow the progress of the autoimmune attack.  You can continually try to replace and make up for the lost function, but the immune attach rages on.  So to answer this question..."Synthroid" or "Armour" does NOT treat the Hashimoto's disease process.  It does nothing to stop or slow down the actual cause of the immune disease process.   So don't let some out of touch doctor tell you that nothing more can be done to improve your symtoms.  You can be helped.  You can feel better.  It just takes the correct approach.
